Chrysanthemums

It's not the odds you bet your life on It's not the pillow you set your head on It's not the anchor you tie your ship to It's not the tempo you set the song to But it's all you hear for a while and the light seems dimmer and dimmer but it's only you and that sparrow flies into the window again and again and again and again and again It's not the lullaby you fall asleep to It's not the girl you give a ring to It's not the hook you'd hang a frame on It's not the line you'd sign your name on It's not the hill you choose to die on But it's all you know in a while and the room seems dimmer and dimmer but it's only you and that sparrow flies into the window again and again and again and then Christmas comes for a while and the truth you remember flies in for the weekend but quickly it's gone, and you've been cold for so long that you're falling asleep in the snow

Red 02:57
And that was yesterday But I've been in bed for years Writing my elegies Making faces in the mirror Fading into what sent me running Leaning into the lovely lies Watching the breeze blow in through the open door They say if you dig a little deeper You will find what you need So I did, and I dug, sinking into myself They tell you to be stronger Use the hurt as your armor So I hung, yes I clung, to the wrongs, to the red Red, raging red Rotting red And that was yesterday But the garden's overgrown The war is gone and past What'll I do now that I'm on my own

Spots 03:34
These old spots upon my skin I can hide, but am I ever hidden? Quiet questions from my lips I have asked, but have I ever listened? Oh do you want to be healed from the Well that never dries away? From the One who clothes you all in white on your wedding day? Blemished heart, and faithless bride, I could run, but you pursue me farthest This old past, borne on my brow But I can trust that you have called it "finished" Yes, Lord, yes Yes to Your healing hands Yes to Your good plan, I know that You can if you are willing

Like the morning, Your mercy renews Old as the sun and as fresh as the dawn Majesty ageless, grace that is endless Ever faithful, Your promises sure Teach us to knock and You'll open the door Hope for the hopeless, joy for the weary soul You are al - to - ge - ther lovely! You are altogether beautiful! Sons and daughters, Lord who are we to Share in Your love, bear the likeness of You? Here in Your presence, free and made fearless You are altogether lovely! You are altogether beautiful!
